Come from all 5 Riverview elementary schools
(Carnation, Cherry Valley, Stillwater, ERMA and PARADE).
6th grade is the first time
this graduating class will all be together.
About 750 students in
grades 6-8.
While in Middle School
Students go from
being more “child- like” to “adult-like” – it’s a time of intense growth.
Students discover their sense of self and
become more independent.
Characteristics of Middle Schoolers
Middle schoolers are
focused on themselves.
Middle schoolers prioritize
their peers over adults.
Middle schoolers change
their interests frequently.

Students will have the opportunity to select semester-long electives in 7th and 8th grade.

Important Dates
Counselors visited every 5th grade classroom last week Tuesday, June 5th – 5th Grade Transition Event from
2:45-5:30 pm
Monday, August 27th – Orientation Day from
8-11 am and 12-3 pm – pay fines, turn in medications, class schedules available, pick up PE uniforms, etc.
Tuesday, September 4th – First Day of School –
WEB Orientation in morning

Loves working with middle school students. Puts a lot of time into
helping 6th graders transition into middle school – we have an incredible group of 6th grade teachers.
