  • f different ages up to age five. Parents should share the Kit

with family members and friends who are pregnant or who have young children.

Kit Distribution Tips for Direct Distributors

Barrier: “I think WIC distributes the Kit in my area.” Know your community numbers. In my county less than 1,000 Kits were being distributed, yet 8,000 babies were born each year. The answer: The Barrier Breaker: “Only 1,000 Kits were distributed but 8,000 babies were born last year - we are not reaching all

  • families. This information is important for child development

and our next generation AND its free. We need your help to reach all parents/caregivers.”

Barrier: We do not have the room to store the Kit This is a true barrier for many hospitals and agencies. The Barrier Breaker: “We can order the Kits more frequently for your location and in smaller quantities.”

Breaking Down the Barriers to Distribution

Barrier: We already do so many things. The Barrier Breaker: “The Kit makes your job easier. Giving the parent/caregiver a free gift is a great way to begin your relationship. Walking the parent through the Kit items

  • pens up the conversation on a broad range of topics. We

also have training designs and tools that you can use with your parents/caregivers.”
