How do You catch The virus?

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus.

The COVID-19 virus spreads primarily through droplets of saliva

  • r discharge

from the nose when an infected person coughs or sneezes. The virus can survive for up to 72 hours out of the body on surfaces that have been contaminated by infected droplets. People can pick up the virus by breathing in the droplets or by touching contaminated surfaces and then touching their eyes, mouth and face.

Exit from lockdown: strategic aims

On the 6th May 2020 a lockdown exit strategy for the Bailiwick was published, the strategic aims of which are to:

Mitigate and minimise the impact of COVID- 19 on the community; Protect and preserve life; Minimise the economic, social and environmental impacts; and Promote the restoration to normality as soon as possible
