SLIDE 21 Dear First Name: As the days grow longer, it’s a good time to notice something it’s easy to take for granted: light. Light allows us to see the work we have before us. It allows us to appreciate the simple glories of God’s creation, as the green shoots spring up and the streams fmow around us. The presence of light warms us, and it lifts
  • ur spirits. Longer days mean more light. More light means more of all of this.

Presence is invaluable, and you make our presence possible when you give $50 or more to More Light Presbyterians. Will you give now?

What does More Light in the church look like? It is the simple glory of every person as God created them, living fully as themselves; the green shoots of new welcoming worshiping communities and campus ministries; the streams of justice rolling down to cleanse the structural sins of our institutions. We all have something to give, and to remember that in these days is also a simple glory. Your gift makes it possible for More Light Presbyterians to shine more light where it’s needed most. It’s as easy to forget about light as it is the air we breathe. It’s just there. Being light. Of course, the truth is that where light is, life thrives. Simply by being present, light is doing its own work, even as it allows you to do yours. The work of growing, of nurturing, of warming, and giving life. This is the work of light. This is where we take our inspiration—especially in this time of pandemic, when many of us must rely
  • n the light that comes in through windows, through the cracks around closed doors, into shadowed
corners—bringing hope, joy, and a glimpse of peace to life. More Light has expanded our presence during this time when physical gathering can’t happen. We’ve embraced a way of being there for congregations and communities as a steady, life-giving source of connection, and discovered it’s really the essence of who we are. No matter where you are, More Light is with you, reaching into the shadows of prejudice and fear, around the closed doors of racism, transphobia, and other-isms of all kinds, brightening the corners of isolation and despair. Bringing the light that allows you to do more of the life-giving work before you. Blessings, Alex Patchin McNeill P .S. More Light is here. With your help, we’ll continue to be here, just as God’s mercies are new every
  • morning. Make today the day you join in shining more light where it’s needed. Your gift means more
hope, more courage, more connection, More Light, more life. Text LOVEMLP to 72572, go online to www.mlp.org, or return the enclosed envelope to donate! June 2020

Now, more than ever, more light = more life.
