Fiscal year end May 31, 2019 We started the process for jersey replacement with the Midget jerseys for the 2016/2017 season and continued with the replacement of the Bantam jerseys. The Novice Division was able to secure a new Sponsor for the division in the year 2018/2019 to help offset the jersey costs for the division and these were replaced this past 2018/2019 season. The Peewee jerseys will be replaced for the 2019/2020 season and the atom division will be the last one to be replaced as needed and as funds allow. We are proposing a $5 fee increase for most divisions next year. Some highlights for registration this year:

There will be a 3% administrative fee added to the registration fee to offset the credit card processing charge

Registration opens June 17 and closes July 21. Any registrations after registration closes are subject to a $100 late registration fee, and only as space in the division allows.

The payment deferral plan will continue as last year (50% of the registration fee will be due at the time of registration, additional 25% payment due on July 31, final 25% will be due August 31). Payment arrangements will be made through RAMP at the time of registration.

Any payments that are not cleared by the credit card company will be subject to an Admin fee.

VP PLAYER/COACH DEVELOPMENT – ROY BOWLBY COACH of the YEAR

5/15/2019 OMHA ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

C.O.T.Y. Surveys responses: I cannot express how grateful we have been to have _______ as our head coach this year. He has gone above and beyond for our son who has had a hard season. He never once gave up on him and was always concerned for his well being. My son has grown in many ways this season, on the ice and personally. Without _______ this wouldn’t have been possible. We can’t thank him enough and will appreciate all he has done for the team and our son forever! Coach ________ has done a tremendous jobs teaches the kids the finer details of the game, concept of accountability, value of hard work, and celebrated defeats and wins. As a parent what I have appreciate the most is him dealing with each kid in a consistent manner, he stressed the value of team work, and ensured no one was left behind. He also made sure it was fun. Excellent teacher. Calm and respectful. Provided opportunity for each player to excel. Developed team first and players responded. Improvement was dramatic

2019 Runner Up

Coach _______ gave all the players the opportunity to improve & succeed as a group. Every Player received equal amount of ice time regardless of ability. He calls it fair play! Within any team environment there can be challenges with personalities. _______ has the ability to recognize these challenges and bring his team together. All players were encouraged and given many pats on the back even when mistakes were made. He wanted to win as a team, and created a team environment. All players moving on from his coaching experience will have learned many valuable lessons on & off the ice. He is more than just a coach he is a Mentor! Coach ________is the epitome of what hockey is about. I would even go so far to say, that coaching is very much a way of life for him. He's always talking about how beautiful the game of hockey is, and how much he loves the sport. He is the one of the most dedicated coaches that I have ever seen in 11 years of hockey! He is at every game hours earlier than everyone else. He's always thinking of creative ways of trying to facilitate player development, customizing his coaching methodologies before every practice and game. He meets the team where they're at, pushing them to be the best that they can be, creating an environment where the players want to show up, both physically and mentally. Even though our season was riddled with craze due to factors external to his control (i.e., officiating, player suspensions, constant chirping by other teams), Coach _______ always maintained his passion for the game with a considerate, level-headed demeanor. Coach ______ would never think he was deserving of an accolade such as this. This is our third year with Coach ________ on the bench -

  • ur first with him as a head coach - and we are immensely grateful for his commitment, values, confidence and love of sport that he has

instilled on our child

Tune-Ups - 18th year that OMHA provided Tune-ups. This past season again though we only

It was optional ice that players could take advantage of and it sold out quickly

Goalie Clinics – conducted Sunday night Goalie Clinics. For the 6th year we used World Pro.

  • Midget 4 – HC: Ryan Rarick

(11F / 6D / 1G) WON CAHL MIDGET BANNER One more team from last year and teams were full! A few midget players that either requested releases or dropped out after

  • evaluations. We had good communication with OOAA through the OMHA evaluation process.

Would like to see players that tryout for AA and get released be able to try out for OMHA evaluations properly. The 1st goalie evaluation skate was cancelled for the lack of goalies trying out for AA but the issue was, we still need a goalie evaluation for the released goalies. If players can’t be ranked after 1 eval, then goalies shouldn’t be either. The Midget season before christmas seemed to have a lot of player and coach suspensions, but once rectify some reffing issues, the number of suspensions went down in the new year. The communication with other associations was amazing and it really helped with the reffing situation.

OMHA FEMALE PROGRAM 2018/2019

OMHA ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

OMHA recognizes there are concerns with GHC pulling out of RMFHL. We will work to ensure that the female program in Okotoks continues to grow and develop. There are several variables that come into play when we make these decisions; number of registered players in a division, and depth of player development within those divisions. We won’t know for sure until registration opens what those variables look like. Using the information that we have from last season we present the following options for next season;

  • Tiered Atom Division
  • 1 A Team in CAHL, 1 B Team in RMFHL Blue Division, 1 or 2 C Teams in RMFHL

Yellow Division.

  • Associations agreed to tier Atom RMFHL at their AGM in April AGM
  • Tiered Peewee Division
  • 1 A Team in CAHL, 1 B Team in RMFHL Blue Division, 2 C teams in RMFHL

Yellow Division.

  • Tiered Bantam Division
  • 1 A Team in RMFHL Blue Divison, and 2 B teams in RMFHL

Yellow Division

  • Tiered Midget Division
  • 1 A Team RMFHL Blue Division, and 1 B Team in RMFHL

Yellow Division

  • Variables are subject to change based on registration numbers and overall skill level presented at

evaluations in the fall 2018.
