Dates and Times

  • Six week program: January 5, 12, 19, and 26

February 2 & 9th.

  • (Make-up dates Feb. 16 and 23)
  • Thursdays after school
  • 2:30-9:00 PM
  • 9:00 Pick-up time at CTMS

Who can join?

  • Students who are participating in Cheerleading or

Basketball may not participate in Ski Club.

  • Students who did not make the Basketball team

may join. Payment can be made after tryouts.

  • Drama Students: Only Ensemble and Stage Crew

can join.

  • Students absent from school or with an injury

that keeps them out of PE will NOT be able to attend that night. Vouchers are provided by Shawnee.

Lessons

ALL students take a 1 hour group lesson each week, for the first 5 weeks. Final week: no lesson Students advance through levels 1-6

The Bus

  • Coach buses
  • Bus is equipped with DVD player: We will show a

movie each week.

  • Students may do homework, listen to music, read,
  • r talk quietly with friends.
  • Students will sign up with a seat partner and have

assigned seats.

Arrival at Shawnee

  • We arrive at about 3:50.
  • Students with own

equipment head up to the Ski School.

  • Students who rent

equipment go directly to the rental shop.

After lessons

  • Check in at the lodge (upper level) before 6:00

PM

  • Teacher will ask you two check in questions.
  • ALWAYS ski/board with a friend who is at

your level.

  • TELL THE CHAPERONE if you need help

finding a buddy.

  • ASK for help!

Dinner is on your own. There is a cafeteria, but you may also bring your

  • wn dinner.

Shawnee also offers pre-paid dinner plans with online sign up.

HELP!

  • Teacher chaperones will be

stationed upstairs in the lodge and skiing/boarding

  • ut on the slopes. ASK for

help!

  • The FIRST AID hut is to the

right of the lodge when facing down the hill.

  • Ask any SKI PATROL person

for help.

FIRST AID PROCEDURES

  • Any student who has been injured will be

attended to by Shawnee First Aid and CTMS staff.

  • Parent(s) will be notified immediately via

phone call from chaperone.

  • Accident report will be given to parent upon

arrival at CTMS.

  • Severe injuries will be transported via

ambulance to the Pocono medical center, where parents will meet us.

Safety Precautions

  • ALL skiers and snowboarders MUST wear a

helmet.

  • All SNOWBOARDERS must wear wrist guards.
  • DO NOT go on a slope that you are not ready

for.

  • Know and follow your Responsibility Code.

Anticipated Cost

  • $372.50 (6) lift tickets, lessons, transportation and
  • supervision. (NO RENTALS)
  • $412.50 for (6) lift tickets, lessons, transportation,

supervision, and rentals at Shawnee.

  • Meal Vouchers are additional $40
  • Cost is based on 100 students participating.
  • Shawnee refund policy will be in your information
  • packet. CTMS cannot refund bus fee.

ALL paperwork must be returned to school by Oct. 28, 2016 including medical clearance. Please fill out the Student Contact Registration Form

NO PAYMENT IS MADE AT THIS TIME.

  • Email will be sent out Nov. 11th with final price

and instructions for on-line payment made directly to Shawnee.

  • Spirit wear can also be purchased at this time.

  • Responsibility: Is this a responsibility that

your child is ready for? Will he/she ask for help?

  • Social Maturity: Does your child have the

ability to navigate the social aspect of Ski Club?

  • Opportunity: Controlled, monitored and

educationally focused.
