Why is service so important at Regis Jesuit?

  • It is part of our mission as Members of this Catholic,

Christian community.

  • It is in keeping with the gospel message of Christ to

share all of the gifts and talents we’ve been given with those who have the least.

  • Performing service can open our eyes to the

injustice and cruelty in our world and teach us to love and understand all people, no matter where they live or what they have.

What are my 9th Grade service requirements at Regis Jesuit?

  • Freshmen are required to serve a

minimum of 10 hours

  • 1st Half (5) of your 10 hours are

due on December 1st.

  • 2nd Half (5) due on May 1st.

What kinds of service can I do as a Freshman?

Freshmen can do almost any kind of work they aren’t paid for! For example:

  • Work in your parish or church
  • Volunteer at your old

elementary school

  • Do service in your

neighborhood or local parks

  • Volunteer to help out at RJHS

  • Volunteer at RJHS on

Fall & Spring Spruce Up Days

  • Help with LARK
  • Open House
  • Volunteer at your Rec

Center, Park District, etc.

  • Work at a local nursing home
  • Tutor elementary school kids in

an after school program

  • Coach disabled children
  • Stock shelves in a food bank
  • Go on a Mission Trip with your

church youth group

  • Organize a group to help out in

your neighborhood raking leaves or shoveling snow for the elderly or disabled
