Introduction: Who We Are

  • Formed in 1954 as the Geelong and District Community Chest,

becoming United Way Geelong Region in 1979.

  • 2011 become Give Where You Live Inc. as a means of keeping all

raised funds under our control and in the Geelong region.

  • Over the last 60 years we have contributed more than $42M to

charitable and welfare not for profit organisations in the Geelong region to reduce disadvantage.

  • Our goal is to be a catalyst for positive social change by ensuring
  • ur contributions have the greatest measurable impact on

disadvantage, through mobilising resources, enabling partnerships and funding innovative programs.

2014 Grant Round: Eligibility We fund charitable

  • rganisations that have:
  • Tax Concession Charity (TCC) and
  • Deductible Gift Recipient Item 1

(DGR1) status and

  • Whose proposed projects will impact

the Geelong region - City of Greater Geelong, Surf Coast Shire, Borough of Queenscliffe, and southern Golden Plains Shire

We do not fund:

  • Individuals
  • Clinical or medical research
  • Endowment Funds
  • Conferences or fundraising events
  • Retrospective or duplicated funding
  • Programs that discriminate or create

community conflicts

  • Auspicing (the organization applying

MUST the one undertaking the project

  • Previous grant recipients who have not

completed reporting and acquittal requirements
