Veterinary Education and the Role of the Veterinary Statutory Body

Specific programme
Improvement of Animal Welfare Programme (IAWP)
- The OIE improved animal welfare programme was developed
with the support of the Australian Government as a capacity building programme to assist recipient countries implement OIE animal welfare standards on land transport and slaughter. To date the training programme has been delivered in 15 OIE Member Countries for transport and slaughter of cattle, sheep and pigs.
- Cattle slaughter DVD
The DVD (to be given on Friday to the Delegates) was developed to support in-country training. It covers all major welfare issues associated with slaughter of cattle.
