Overview of TI RAP

The TIRAP board is comprised of people from key segment s of t he indust ry. The board in a j oint vent ure wit h t he U.S . Depart ment of Labor Office of Apprent iceship is responsible for t he following:

1.

Creat ion or accept ance of t raining requirement s for companies t hat want t o part icipat e in t he apprent iceship program.

2.

Ensure t hat we are fulfilling our responsibilit y t o allow employees in t he program t o learn t o perform qualit y work in accord wit h t he st andards in t he safest of manners.

3.

Work t o st reamline t he process and facilit at e communicat ion bet ween government ent it ies and indust ry.

4.

S upport regulat ors and receive support as we address t rends in t he indust ry t hrough t raining

5.

Review changes in indust ry st andards and work t o allow access t o t hese changes by companies and employees in t he program.

6.

Review dat a provided on t he st at us of t he program provided by t he st at e or federal offices.

Currently the board is empowering the committees that will support and review the training requirements. The following committees are being empowered:

S afety – Jeremy Buckles - S BA

Quality –Art Pregler was the chair but looking for a new chair as Art has taken on board responsibilities.

Technology – James Walker-Pontius was the chair but looking for a new chair as JWP has taken on board responsibilities

4.

Communication – Currently seeking a chair

Workforce Development – Dr. Gemma Frock

OEM – Currently seeking a chair
