definition of the concept “National Statistical System”. Confusion is raised in determining the role of stakeholders involved, mode of

INSTAT’s status, duties and responsibilities are regulated by three Articles of ALOS



Article e 7 charges the institution as the main producer of official statistics, the coordinator of NSS and the responsible institution for ensuring that statistics in Albania are produced respecting the statistical principles



Article e 8 specifies the rights and duties of INSTAT.

Article e 9 specifies the legal status of INSTAT and its financing.

 INSTAT is a public legal institution, under Prime Minister.  Its directing bodies are General Director and Statistical Council.  The rules of appointment of INSTAT’s General Director, the general criteria

for the selection of candidates and the cases for its dismissal.
