Component 1.1: Improvement of Awareness through Environmental Education

Action Plan: Conduct campaigns to educate youths through eco-competitions such as essay-writing competitions, eco races, innovation and creativity competitions as well as

  • rganizing science fairs to promote green technologies.

Timing: Overall time frame of 1 year where the first 3 months are assigned for event- planning, the next 3 months for approvals and confirmations, the following 1 month to promote the chosen event before a stated date when the event would be carried out. Resourcing Plan:

Campaign Management Committee (Programme Leader, Treasurer, Logistics and Public Relations) to plan the whole event.

Volunteers (NGOs, Youth Council, etc.)

Component 1.2: Education of the Local Coastal Communities To promote awareness and stress the importance of the marine ecosystems to the local coastal communities and how climate change can adversely affect them by providing workshops, seminars and campaign programs. Component 2: Conservation of Marine Ecosystem and Biodiversity To conserve the marine ecosystem and biodiversity in the coastal areas through the conduct of mangrove and coral transplanting.

an opportunity to have a hands-on experience on planting mangroves Assessment of the area where the mangrove species will be planted Procurement of the Seedling Orientation of the citizens to the importance of the mangroves via social media (i.e. facebook & twitter) Propagation of the Mangrove Seedlings until the Desirable Age and Height is Reached Mangrove Tranplanting Recheck the growth mangrove species after about a week Evaluation of activity 1 month 2 weeks 1 month 2 – 4 weeks 3-5 days (depends number of volunteers) 3 days Every Three Months for a year Whole Day Activity
