Since 1993, production is done by the TSE (Turkish Standards Institute) certificate. With the references of ISO 9001: 2008, the company proved its success and quality. SEM Transformator A.S. is a 35 years old family company now with around 170 employees as 40 White Collar and 130 blue collar. Most of the staff have experience of over 15 years in transformer manufacturing. Also in the last 6 - 7 years we developed our position in the market with investments on technology and production. We are developing our export markets as well.

straightforward: to step down the voltage and provide isolation between primary and

Magnetic Core Production Assembly and Tank The magnetic core is manufactured using high- permeability and low-loss cold rolled silicon steel used for magnetic cores of the transformers. The core components which are cut in our high accuracy cutting line, are assembled by qualified specialists on special workbenches in order to prevent any deformation of the sheets, also assuring a perfect core alignment. Windings are produced strictly matching with design

• parameters. Upon customer request electrolytic copper
• r aluminum is used as conductor, press band paper is

used as insulator and proper wooden bars are used for

• cooling. Materials are chosen as temperature resistant

and cannot be dissolved in oil. Full automatic machines wound the windings. Windings are passed to next stage for montage. When fully completed, the primary and secondary windigs resemble two compact cylinders and they are assembled coaxially on the core legs. Terminal connections and insulation result in complete active part. Before filling the transformer with oil, the active part is dried in the oven at high temperature (107 oC ) and full

• vacuum. Transformer tank, cover, oil conservator and

corrugated walls and other metallic parts are also manufactured in SEM. Welded parts are checked with 3 different tests against oil leakage and pressure

• withstanding. Transformers are shot blasted or sand

blasted to protect against rust, corrosion and verify sticking or paint properly. Tank inside is varnished and out side is treated with one coat of undercoat and 3 coats of

• paint. Tanks can be hot dip galvanized up on customer

request.

All of our transformers pass through the following routine tests

• Measurement of windings resistance (IEC 60076-1 item 10.2)
• Measurement of transformer turns ratio (IEC 60076-1 item 10.3)
• Measurement of short-circuit impedance and load loss (IEC 60076-1 item 10.4)
• Measurement of no-load loss and current ( IEC 60076-1 item 10.5)
• Measurement of insulation resistance (IEC 60076-3)
• Measurement of insulation of oil (IEC 60076-3)
• Applied voltage test (IEC 60076-1)
• Induced over-voltage withstand test (IEC 60076-1)

Test reports are supplied with transformers. Temperature rise is carried out as well. Type tests are made upon customer's request
