PRINCIPLES
- Uphold the common good, continued human flourishing, even if it means
short-term sacrifice of public worship and piety
- The Church must be good citizens, obeying lawful civic authority
- Safeguard priests, deacons, and other liturgical ministers, many of whom are at-
risk for serious health issues
- Keep church buildings open for private prayer, adoration, Sacrament of
Penance, but NO gatherings
- Allow people to participate virtually in the Eucharist (which continues to be
celebrated) but also provide resources for families to pray at home (Mass readings, liturgy of the hours, spiritual Communion, etc.)
GENERAL GUIDANCE

- Gatherings of no more than TEN
- Funerals, weddings, baptisms, etc.
- Churches can remain OPEN for specified hours; signage to encourage “social
distancing”
- Anointing, Reconciliation, Private/family prayer, Adoration (NOT Exposition)
- Church to be LOCKED while Mass or any other potential gathering takes
place
- Marriages MUST have license
- General absolution ONLY in limited circumstances
