Greek and Latin Roots
Many English words come from Greek and Latin. We find many Greek and Latin roots in words we use everyday. When you do not know what a word means, see if you recognize any parts of the word. That may help you make a guess at its meaning.

Possessive Nouns Nouns are a person, place or thing.
Possessive nouns show ownership. We usually use an 's to show one person or thing owns something. We use s' to show more than one person or thing owns something. Sometimes there are exception too! Here are a few examples...
