WHO ARE WE?

We are parents and residents from the 11 communities of U-46. We are concerned about the success of all children in U-46. Through our involvement in CAC we learn about how the District works; we meet administrators, teachers, and School Board members; and we contribute our ideas and recommendations to improve our children’s education through committee work.

GOALS & OBJECTIVES

Study specific educational topics/ideas and make

recommendations to the Board of Education

  • n ways to improve education in U-46. These

studies and recommendations are performed in the various committees.

Assist the Board and Administration in identifying

ways to achieve district objectives.

Provide a forum for residents of U-46 to express

thoughts and ideas to the Board.

While CAC recommendations and studies do not have to be accepted

  • r followed by the Board, our work is well received and the district

has adopted many of our recommendations. Time and time again, the group’s work has made a meaningful contribution in the district.

WHAT HAS CAC ACCOMPLISHED?

  • Family & Community Engagement Board Policy 8.01 (FACE)
  • SWAS - (School within a School (Gifted Committee)
  • Academies (Ad-hoc Committee on High Schools)
  • School boundaries (Enrollment & Facilities Committee)
  • Special Education Resource Fair (Special Education Committee)
  • Understanding U-46 Finances (Finance Committee)
  • Safety training (Ad-hoc Committee on Cyberbullying)
  • Curriculum rollout improvements (Curriculum Committee)
