Club Mentoring Programme : Key objectives

Step 1

  • Provide your Club with an informed coaching co-ordinator
  • Identify key coaching personnel within your Club and provide them with fresh ideas

Step 2

  • Implement strong, workable Coaching Structures
  • Develop safe Physical Fitness Programmes for your players

Step 3

  • Equip coaches to deliver to each age-group the appropriate activities
  • Ensure we are coaching Fundamental Movement Skills

Step 4

Details of f Club Mentoring Pilot Programme

  • Four guaranteed visits per year. Two to be conducted by full time staff

member & two by member of tutor group.

  • Focused on coaches dealing with 6 -10. Cluster & County workshops for
  • ther age groups.
  • Clubs may apply for more visits through emailing coaching.wexford@gaa.ie

after successfully completing initial programme, and after consultation with club coaching officer & club mentor.

  • Club Mentoring will take place Monday’s, Wednesdays or Saturday

(Morning)

  • Initial consultation with club mentors. If club decides to continue a nominal

fee of €100 will apply for programme. (Year 1)

  • Workshops will be conducted on a cluster basis or open session.
