– Father of community organizing. Born in Chicago in 1909, grew up poor in the Jewish slums of Chicago, Alinsky’s Ideals rose in the 1930’s during the height of The Great Depression. While Chicago was controlled by the “Kelly-Nash Political Machine and heir to Al Capone’s Empire”

• Saul Completed a graduate degree in Criminology from the University Of

Chicago, but his “real Education” came from his work on the streets of Chicago.

• He ingratiated himself with members of Chicago’s infamous Al

Capone Gang to study “gang behavior” from the “INSIDE”.

• His conclusion was that Criminal Activity. Was a symptom of

poverty and, powerlessness.

“Juvenile Research”, Shaw assigned Saul to the “Back of the Yards” which was an immense slum sitting in the back of Chicago’s giant Union Stock Yards Complex.

• Wages for those working in the back of the yards were cut 3 times in one

• Saul approached the labor movement and shared his dream of organizing.

• Saul said “If you ever have an undo concentration of power in one sector
• f our society or an undo concentration of wealth in one sector, the

whole democratic system will collapse internally.”

• The Back of the Yards Council-1939
• Saul envisioned an Organization or Organizations- Neighborhood groups,

small businesses, Labor Unions, and most of all Catholic Church.

• He was largely helped by the following people in this endeavor;
• Joe Mekan- An Irish American Youth Organizer with strong ties to the

Catholic Church. At the time, Labor Unions were viewed as communist.

• Bishop Bernard Sheill- Catholic Leader in Chicago who would work with

Labor Orgs.

• Back of the Yards was comprised of over 100 existing organizations.
• July 14th, 1939- First Back of the Yards Council Meeting. This first meeting

was Revolutionary in America, it showed us the way to Community Organizing.

• July 16th, 1939- Massive Labor Rally with John L. Lewis and Bishop

Bernard Sheill one day after the rally the Armour Plant conceded to recognize the Union.

• United Bishops and Labor Unions gave legitimacy to Back of the Yards

Council.

• John L. Lewis influenced Saul Alinsky in a lot of ways-
• Lewis understood conflict in that ERA.
• Understood mass organization of numbers of people meant power
• Ed Chambers= Industrial Areas Foundation Saul got his vision of the

world, Lewis taught him the universals of organizing “In all

• The first IAF Board Meeting was August 24th, 1940.
• In 1959 Saul Alinsky moved on to the “Woodlawn organization”.

said, “The only contribution Eastman Kodak has made to race relations was the invention of color film”

• Rev. Florence set the time line and then used their massive organization

to force Kodak back to the bargaining table.

• Ken Howard- Foreman Kodak Executive – Saul Alinsky was a “Necessary

Evil”

• In the late 1960’s Saul Alinsky became a folk hero to many College aged
• kids. He challenged them to move from demonstrating in the streets to
• rganizing people in their communities.
• Saul Alinsky said “you don’t have a tougher, harder more realistic
• perator than Paul in organizing Christianity. If Paul hadn’t come around

to organize the Christian Church, Christ would have been another guy h 1969- Ed Chambers and Saul Alinsky set up a training institute for radicals who want to be Community Organizers.

• 1970- Saul Alinsky concluded that American’s poor must align themselves

with the middle class for if they fail to build alliances with them they will move to the right. Maybe they will anyway but lets not let that happen by default.

• The Cloward-Piven Method:
• Professors CLoward and Piven stated that if you

enroll everybody eligible for welfare and force government to make good on their promises of welfare for the poor, the crisis created would collapse the economy.

• Named after their first proponents, Richard

Andrew Cloward and Frances Fox Piven, and brought into the light in 1966, this method intends to force government to live up to their accepted responsibility, by making individuals who

• therwise would not request a handout or welfare,

all of a sudden, start demanding everything they are “entitled” to.

• Published in “The Nation” and under the title “The

weight of the Poor: A strategy to end Poverty” it enticed many to see if it would do what it claimed.

• On September 27, 1970 Richard Cloward told the

New York Times that “the poor can only advance when the rest of society is afraid of them”, that government uses welfare to control the poor, and that by making all that would qualify for welfare demand every bit they were “entitled to”, the ensuing chaos would destroy the system creating riots on the street, and only then, the rest of society “would accept their demands”. This really doesn’t make any sense unless your purpose is not to help the poor, but to destroy capitalism.

• Rudy Giuliani exposed these creeps in 1997 when he

reformed the welfare system in New York. He clearly realized that it was no accident that his State was bankrupt, and the evidence was their own writings. It seems that they wised up, since they haven’t tip their hand again, but the enemis of our Nation use this underhanded technique without mercy.

• Acorn constantly overloads the voting system with

fraudulent voting drive campaigns. They register dead people, children, illegals, felonious convicts, and even cartoon characters (they register Mickey Mouse in Florida). The reason is simple, to allow their candidates to be

• elected. They have been successful beyond their wildest

dreams.

• Now, their proponents are trying to overload the Health

Care system of the United States with 45, 000,000 new patients.

• When confronted by Joe Wilson about the veracity of the

President’s statement that illegal immigrants would not be covered, days later he said that they wouldn’t, but that they needed to find a way to do it, or fix their citizenship status. They keep saying that this huge white elephant of entitlement program is budget neutral and it would not cost a dime, but the Congressional Budget Office estimates it would cost over $800,000,000,000.00 dollars. When they said that you could keep your own individual plans, they wanted to add a clause fining those who would not join the

• plan. Bottom line, this messy Health Care business is

nothing more than the New Left politicians trying to destroy the American Capitalist system, and for the most part, some who claim to e conservative, are either blind or too dumb to realize that they are being lead by the nose. The education system is also targeted with the Cloward-Piven

• system. Don’t believe me? Aren't illegal aliens offered in

state tuition fees to attend college? Does your son or daughter who is an American citizen get cheaper in State tuition fees if he or she decides to go to a school in a different state? The answer is NOT NO, BUT HECK NOOOO!

• And how about the job market? Another way to weaken

the economy of our Nation is by flooding the job market with cheap labor. The influx of cheap labor tears the balance between supply and demand, so now American workers have to charge less for their services. This situation encourages resentment against illegal immigrants and encourages racial discrimination. The liberal’s favorite phrase when talking about illegals getting jobs here is that those are jobs that Americans would not do.

• Ralph (raum) Emmanuel, President Obama’s Chief of Staff,

is a proponent of this method. So is the Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton. That is not a surprise, since her college thesis was about the Alinsky Method, and Cloward and Piven based their method on Alinsky strategies.

Times just before 9/11 that the notion of the United States as a just and fair and decent place “makes me want to puke.” Although Obama actually launched his political career at an event at Ayers’s and Dohrn’s home, Obama has dismissed Ayers as just “a guy who lives in my neighborhood,” and “not somebody who I exchange ideas from on a regular basis.” For his part, Ayers refuses to discuss his relationship with Obama.

Weather Underground

A group of young people under the control of agents from Cuba, China, and Vietnam terrorized the Nation by bombing police stations, the Pentagon, organizing strikes and interrupting classes in

• Universities. They called themselves Weathermen.

In 1969, the Weathermen (later the Weather Underground Organization) released a Statement of Ideology that, for anyone that knows how to read at 12th grade level, would show the blueprint of "how to" destroy the United States. Here is the bad news: if you look at the history of our education, politics, economics, and worldwide standing, along with today’s headlines, you will see an eerie parallel. The history of the United States,

• ver the past 40 plus years, validates the Weather Underground’s

Ideology Statement. "And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear." Mark 4:9 "Kill all the rich people. Break up their cars and apartments. Bring the revolution home, kill your parents, that's where it's really at." William Ayres Born on December 26, 1944 of an anti war father, he quickly adopted his father's anti war views. In the 60's he was a member of the Students for Democratic Society (SDS). In my travels around the world, I have come to realize that when an

• rganization or a Nation starts using the title of democratic, that
• rganization or nation is everything but democratic. Take for

example East Berlin. Demokatische Republik Deutschland, as was it's original name, meant Democratic Republic of Germany; but the city was everything but democratic. Hugo Chavez touts his revolution as a democratic revolution, ask Mark Lloyd, from the Obama administration. So, when these kids called their organization democratic, you can say that it was Marxist. In 1968, Ayers became a leader within the organization's Detroit branch of the SDS. Under the name of the Jessy James Gang, his group took the first steps toward becoming the Weather Underground.

As time went by, he became even more radicalized, to the point where he acknowledges planting several bombs, to include the Capitol Building, the Pentagon, police stations, etc. He admits these facts in his book "Fugitive Days“.

DeBelius; Mona; Bernardine Rae OhrnsteinShe received a Juris Doctor from the University of Chicago Law School in 1967 and went to work for a front for the Communist Party in New York, the National Lawyers Guild. Bernardine Dohrn was one of the regional leaders of the Students for a Democratic Society in the late 60’s and a recognized leader of the Weather Underground later on. Bernadine Dohrn, A lovely, young lady, smart, viewed as attractive by 1969 standards, who had a bright cheerful way of communicating with others, in fact, at the Flint Michigan war council meeting in December 1969, Dohrn raised three fingers simulating a fork, and rallied the troops while referring to the Charles Manson killings of Sharon Tate and the rest of the people in her home at the time, she said, "Dig it, First they killed those pigs, then they ate dinner in the same room with them, they even shoved a fork into a victims stomach" referring to the than pregnant Sharon Tate.

…and they're band of merry misfits. This

group is full of excitement, in fact they've been known to be downright "explosive.“ What a fantastically “$timulating” crowd! They always give us a lot of “BANG” for our buck!

Carl Davidson: As a member of Chicagoans Against War on Iraq (CAWI), Davidson help

• rganize the rally where then Senator Obama spoke for the first time

against the war in Iraq; and also a member of Progressives for Obama. Davidson claims that he was one of the primary organizers of the Venceremos Brigades (VB) whose official purpose was to visit Cuba and help harvest sugar cane among the Cubans. Unofficially, the trips were used by Cuban Intelligence to spread propaganda and recruit the naïve American youth in order to spy for Cuba. Some of the members of the Students for Democratic Society (SDS), participated in the trips, also receiving special training from representatives from North Vietnam, China, the National Liberation Front (NFL), and Cuban Intelligence. Davidson visited Cuba again in 1968 to meet with Fidel Castro. Afterwards, he became heavily involved with the SDS, and the Weather Underground.

• Jeff was a member of the weather Underground, yes, little

Jeffy was one of those poor misguided "kids" who were out there making "mistakes" oh and bombs blowing up things like police stations, and the Pentagon.

• In 1969 Jeff grew out of his young impetuous activities

though and realizing what he's done was wrong, went underground where he stayed until being arrested in 1981.

• For his crimes, of which there where many, he received

"probation, and community service."-

• Remember the troops were being put in place,- some of them

in high places, very high places that could possibly make decisions on things like, oh say- punishments and sentencing terms for terrorists?

• Today Jeff Jones is a contributing member of society, (That

probation reformed him apparently) because he is now the head of "Jeff Jones strategies, a consulting firm where he uses the skills learned during his community organizer and weather Underground days to help local organizations achieve their goals, (what a sweetheart!)

• Oh yea by the way, Jeff Jones? Well you might recall him

having been involved with another group, perhaps this one is familiar to you, he is executive Director of -->> (Visual)

• Mark Lloyd Cheif Diversity Czar, and Officer of the FCC (Federal

Communications Commission) LLoyd is an Alinsky Disiple, in 2006 he wrote a book called Prologue to a farse: Communication and Democracy in America, in it he calls for an "all out confrontational movement" against private media. He wants leftist activists, through incessant political pressure- and the government through the creation of a totally untenable operating environment of fees, fines, and regulations- to work together to force the commercial broadcasters out, to be replaced by public broadcasters. LLoyd is specifically targeting Conservative Talk Radio, in 2005 Lloyd said that fundemental policy changes must be made to white dominated media in order to solve the problems society faces.

• The FCC Diversity Czar is an admirer of Hugo Chavez and

Communist theory. He does not believe in free speech, or Private property.

• Mark Lloyd is a senior fellow at the Center for American Progress

focusing on communications policy issues, including universal service, advanced telecommunications deployment, media concentration and diversity.

• From the fall of 2002 until the summer of 2004, Mr. Lloyd was a

Martin Luther King, Jr. visiting scholar at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he taught communications policy and wrote and conducted research on the relationship between communications policy and strong democratic communities. He also served as the executive director of the Civil Rights Forum on Communications Policy, a non-profit, non-partisan project he co- founded in 1997 to bring civil rights principles and advocacy to the communications policy debate.

In 1970, one of George Wiley's protégés, Wade Rathke -- like Bill Ayers, a member of the radical Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) -- was sent to found the Arkansas Community Organizations for Reform Now. While NWRO had made a good start, it alone couldn't accomplish the Cloward-Piven goals. Rathke's group broadened the offensive to include a wide array of low income "rights." Shortly thereafter they changed "Arkansas" to "Association of" and ACORN went nationwide.

The Radical Left's offensive to promote illegal immigration is "Cloward-Piven on steroids." ACORN is at the forefront of this movement as well, and was a leading organization among a broad coalition of radical groups, including Soros' Open Society Institute, the Service Employees International Union (ACORN founder Wade Rathke also runs a SEIU chapter), and others, that became the Coalition for Comprehensive Immigration Reform. CCIR fortunately failed to gain passage for the 2007 illegal immigrant amnesty bill, but its goals have not changed.

lines of those organized by Saul Alinsky, on the far west side of Chicago called Organization for a Better

• Austin. OBA was concerned with poor schools and neighborhood decline.

He also founded the Mid-America Institute for Community Organizations, and trained notable

In 1950 Edward Berman, a member of the NAACP's Honolulu branch, testified to the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC) that Davis had "sneaked" into local NAACP meetings to "propagandize" the organization's members about America's "racial problems," with "the avowed intent and purpose

• f converting it into a front for the Stalinist line."

Davis was identified unequivocally as a CPUSA member in a 1951 report of the Commission on Subversive Activities to the Legislature of the Territory of Hawaii (CSALTH), which, along with HUAC, also charged that Davis was affiliated with a number of communist-front

• rganizations. According to Max Friedman, a former undercover member of several Communist-controlled "anti-war" groups, Davis testified in

1956 before the Senate Internal Security Subcommittee and took the Fifth Amendment when asked about his Communist Party membership. In the 1970s Davis met a teenage Barack Obama and his family, who also lived in Hawaii. Davis soon became the young man's mentor and advisor. In his 1995 book, Dreams From My Father, Obama writes about Davis but does not reveal the latter's full name, identifying him only as "a poet named Frank" -- a man with much "hard-earned knowledge" who had known "some modest notoriety once" and was "a contemporary of Richard Wright and Langston Hughes during his years in Chicago," but was now "pushing eighty." (Several sources -- including Professor Gerald Horne, Dr. Kathryn Takara, and libertarian writer Trevor Loudon -- have confirmed that Obama's "Frank" was indeed Frank Marshall Davis.) Obama in his book recounts how, just prior to heading off to Occidental College in 1979, he spent some time with "Frank and his old Black Power dashiki self." Says Obama, "Frank" told him that college was merely "an advanced degree in compromise," and cautioned him not to "start believing what they tell you about equal opportunity and the American way and all that sh--." Davis also told Obama, "What I'm trying to tell you is you [white] grandma's right to be scared.... She understands that black people have a reason to hate. That's just how it is. For your sake, I wish it were otherwise. But it's not. So you might as well get used to it." Davis penned many poems during his lifetime. One of them, titled "To the Red Army," hailed the Soviet revolution and condemned the "rich industrialists" in Washington DC and London who allegedly wanted Hitler and the Nazis to "wipe Communism from the globe." Davis also wrote poems deriding traditional Christianity. In some of these compositions, Davis called Christ "a Dixie Nigger" who was nothing more than "another New White Hope"; he derided Christians as hypocrites "who buy righteousness like groceries"; and he spoke of Africans being killed with a "Christian gun" by missionaries following "the religion of Sweet Jesus," rather than by a spear. Another Davis poem, "Peace Quiz for America," includes the following lines: Uncle Sam, Uncle Sam Why did you send me against Axis foes In the death-kissed foxholes Of New Guinea and Europe Without shielding my back From the sniping Dixie lynchers In the jungles of Texas and Florida?

The Woods Fund of Chicago is an outgrowth of the Woods Charitable Fund (WCF), which was established in 1941 by Frank Woods and his wife, Nelle Cochrane Woods. Frank Woods was an attorney and a nationally prominent telephone company executive. He and his wife incorporated WCF with their three sons, two of whom remained in Lincoln, and one of whom (Frank Woods, Jr.) worked in Chicago after finishing college and eventually became the head of the Sahara Coal Company.
