The General Format

  • Each course consists of:
  • Weekly lecture to introduce the topic
  • Weekly seminar to deepen knowledge and

discuss individual study

  • Assessment: presentations; ‘formative’ essays
  • Two 11-week terms incl. a reading week; summer

term for revision and dissertation preparation

Timings

  • Coursework: 24 hrs
  • Prep = 5.5 hrs
  • Lecture = 1 hr
  • Seminar = 1.5 hrs
