Environment Working Group Please help us!

Would you consider volunteering to help us? You do not have to become a councillor to help keep the village clean, tidy and safe for your own family and for all residents. STOP PRESS! We will be planting trees in November and are planning for a 3 year programme for lots more! The Parish includes the YES Estate, Limes Park, The Brambles and Hemingford Road despite their St Ives postcodes!

We have 112 street lights

These lights are over 50 years old with aluminium columns and completely obsolete ‘bowls’. They have had LED ‘bulbs’ for several years. Now being replaced by modern steel columns with integrated LED lanterns by K&M Lighting Services with connections by UK Power Networks The new lights will improve lighting cover while reducing electricity and maintenance costs. They should be good for another 50 years.

Neighbourhood Plan

Much more than a Village Plan

  • PC Task Group meeting monthly (2nd Tuesday)

and initial public consultation this winter

  • Will have status alongside HDC Local Plan
  • Guards against change of government policies

and revised flood risk models

  • More control of the parish environment

BUT

  • Takes two to three years
  • Requires much voluntary effort

and a parish vision
