  3. My Rotary Journey The Story Begins  No Rotary Club in Virden, Manitoba  Experience with Rotarians during my career  Bonspiel in Calgary

  4. Fellowship  Rotary Curling League  Rotary District Bonspiel – 60 th Annual in Calgary in February, 2021  Waterton Glacier Peace Park – Plan to be Part of 2021 Challenge to Members Become involved with social activities our Rotary Club has to offer. Get involved with the fellowship component of Rotary, not just the service component.

  5. We do not have a challenging year. Rather, we have a year of opportunity.

  6. Calgary Rotary Clubs Foundation  Only certain funds received by our Club this year President Penny’s objective: 65 new donors s to Calgar ary y Rot otary y Clubs bs Fo Foundatio dation

  7. CRCF – Mario Stella Funds  $65,000 received this year  Funds designated to provide transportation to handicapped individuals  Newly formed committee chaired by Myrna Dube- Thompson  Ongoing reminder of Mario’s generosity  Provide an example that others may follow

  8. Significant Committee Changes  Large Grants suspended  Small Grants suspended  No funding to Partners  No funding to World Community Service  No sense breaking up limited funds we have available to disburse

  9. Funds Optimization Committee  Chaired by Jim Hutchens  Opportunities for matching funds/grants  Opportunities to collaborate with third parties  Opportunities to collaborate with other Rotary Clubs  Opportunities to apply with volunteer efforts

  10. Capacity  One of the most valuable intangible assets of this year  Strategic Planning Committee  Early Act Committee  Other projects and initiatives

  11. Things Keep Evolving  Where do I want to be at the end of June, 2021?  What do I want to say I accomplished? It came down to two things: ROSAIC My BHAG This is where everyone should “Buckle Up”…

  12. ROSAIC – What is It?  Dream Home Plan B  Blend of Rotary and Mosaic  Modelled after Winnipeg’s Folklorama Festival  Multiple pavilions at multiple locations  Rotary is facilitator and administrator, not hands on  Revenue earned by licensing, passport sales, sponsors, etc

  13. ROSAIC – Why Do It?  An audience exists for a different form of festival  Rotary can lead and have profile  Pandemic recovery will require celebrations  Ethnic communities need to be factored into recovery  Boost to economy – generate jobs  Funding likely available for this type of event  Collaborate with other Rotary Clubs  Inspire potential members

  16. My Rotary Journey Continues  Accomplished Angels Fund  58 Scholarship Awards have been awarded since inception.  Fund Balance currently over $1 Million  Not possible without Rotary or Rotarians
