At least how many of those months must be on the lees? 12 months (D4 3.2) The extra 3 months are to give time for the dosage to “marry” w/ wine. Technically, this is the same minimum lees aging for vintage Champagne as well with the obviously longer 36 months total aging before release. Q2 – True or False . Reserve Ruby Port must spend a minimum of 1 year in bottle before release. (D5 3.3) No aging min for basic or RSV ruby.
