Your Tutor

You will register with your tutor every morning at 8.45 am in your tutor room. Your tutor will be a very important person to you; they will get to know you and you will get to know them. You will meet new people and make new friends Your tutor will be there to help you if you have any problems. You will do most of your lessons with your tutor group. Your tutor will stay with you right through to year 11 if possible.

The pastoral team support students with friendship issues and any worries you may have. They are on hand to help you if you have any questions of concerns.

need to sign in or out with Mrs Preece.

  • Mrs Preece is based in the Pastoral Office.
  • Mrs Preece can also help you if you have any questions

Individual Needs Department

  • Our department supports students in lessons and helps with

differentiating work.

  • We provide a quiet area for eating at break and lunchtimes
  • We will help you to access the canteen and choose your food
  • r drink, if you need us to
  • We run intervention groups like Read Write Inc.
  • We have about 16 LSA’s working in College to support

students

  • We are on hand to help if you need it.

First Day

  • We will greet you by the railings in the main car park
  • We will guide you into the Sports Hall where you can meet your tutor and

tutor group

  • You will spend the morning with your tutor, getting to know them and

learning about the College

  • You will have lessons in one main area of the College in September, so you

do not have to worry about getting lost

  • All Year 7 will be in one area together
  • College does seem big but you will soon get used to it.
  • There will be lots of people to help you
  • If you are worried about anything or unsure all you have to do is ask

someone. Your tutor would be a good person to ask.

Break and Lunchtime

You might like to bring a snack for breaktime (11.10-11.30) because

  • ur lunchtime later than you are used to (1.30-2.15)

You should bring a drink in your bag, we like this to be water. Year 7 use the junior canteen Year 7 can eat in the Old Hall and be with friends and play games in the Quad area. Years 9,10,11,12 and 13 use the Bistro at the other end of the College
