You will now know which tutor group you are in In Year 7 there are 10 tutor groups. • Causley tutors: Mrs Gough (ELG) Miss Rueda-Soriano (RRU) and Mr Reynolds (PRE) • Hepworth tutors: Mr Dix (LDD) Miss Bateman (CB) Mr Woodhouse (NWO) • Rescorla tutors: Miss Mobbs (AAM) Mrs Cooper (SCO) • Trevithick tutors: Miss Williams (KHW) Mr Keegan (BJK)

  11. Your Tutor You will register with your tutor every morning at 8.45 am in your tutor room. Your tutor will be a very important person to you; they will get to know you and you will get to know them. You will meet new people and make new friends Your tutor will be there to help you if you have any problems. You will do most of your lessons with your tutor group. Your tutor will stay with you right through to year 11 if possible.

  12. The Pastoral Team Miss Prout- Student Support Manager The pastoral team • Mrs Rowland Pastoral Support support students with friendship issues and any worries you may have. Mrs Brown Pastoral Support They are on hand to help you if you have any questions of concerns.

  13. Mrs Preece • Is our Attendance Officer. • If you have an appointment during the College day you need to sign in or out with Mrs Preece. • Mrs Preece is based in the Pastoral Office. • Mrs Preece can also help you if you have any questions about buses.

  14. Mrs Quirk School Nurse If you ever feel unwell at Launceston College, or you hurt yourself we have our school nurse who will help you.

  15. Individual Needs Department Mrs Tucker is our Autism Champion and Team Leader for Year 7 Mrs Sleeman T eam Leader for Years 8 and 9 Mrs T ocknell T eam Leader for Years 10 and 11

Individual Needs Department • Our department supports students in lessons and helps with differentiating work. • We provide a quiet area for eating at break and lunchtimes • We will help you to access the canteen and choose your food or drink, if you need us to • We run intervention groups like Read Write Inc. • We have about 16 LSA’s working in College to support students • We are on hand to help if you need it.

First Day • We will greet you by the railings in the main car park • We will guide you into the Sports Hall where you can meet your tutor and tutor group • You will spend the morning with your tutor, getting to know them and learning about the College • You will have lessons in one main area of the College in September, so you do not have to worry about getting lost • All Year 7 will be in one area together • College does seem big but you will soon get used to it. • There will be lots of people to help you • If you are worried about anything or unsure all you have to do is ask someone. Your tutor would be a good person to ask.

Break and Lunchtime You might like to bring a snack for breaktime (11.10-11.30) because our lunchtime later than you are used to (1.30-2.15) You should bring a drink in your bag, we like this to be water. Year 7 use the junior canteen Year 7 can eat in the Old Hall and be with friends and play games in the Quad area. Years 9,10,11,12 and 13 use the Bistro at the other end of the College
