These will be- Mrs Walsh (3 days) and Ms Nash (2 days) will job share. We are currently recruiting for another TA- To be confirmed soon.

KEY TIMES OF THE DAY 8.50am: Doors open for parents and children to enter. 9.15am: Doors close 11.45am: Children break for lunch 1.15pm: Children return from lunch 3.20pm: Doors open for children to be collected (This is to aid parents with siblings further up school) We would like to show you what really happens in Nursery.......

  8.  Throughout the course of your child’s day at school, adults will be spending time developing your child’s learning.  This may be by  leading small group focus tasks  Joining in with games being played  Running 1:1 interventions  Setting up new and exciting enhancements around the room.  Our practitioners are constantly watching, observing and recording what the children are doing to capture moments in their learning that show evidence of progress against the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.  These observations will be uploaded on to an virtual platform which all parents will be able to access through use of an App on a tablet device or mobile phone

We will send out more information about Tapestry when your child starts school in September!  Every time your child does something that gives you a “WOW” feeling, we want to know about it.  This could include something like  Riding a bike without stabilisers  Achieving a swimming certificate  Counting to 10 for the first time  “Reading” / rehearsing a familiar story  Sharing their toys beautifully  Visiting a new or exciting place  Tell us about what your child did/said/how they felt etc.  Video and photo uploads are very welcome!

  10. Today, whilst at Chorlton Water Park, we saw a butterfly. “Grandma, did you know that caterpillars turn into a butterfly? They make a cocoon once they are big and then turn into a butterfly. Aren’t they beautiful!” “Akil, that’s a a -a-a, ants on my arm” Akil said as we were writing invitations for his birthday party.

  11. Educating your child is a joint responsibility and we believe it is vital to involve you as parents as much as possible in your child’s time whilst at nursery. The following are just some of the ways that we involve you in what is happening here at Brookburn • Celebration Assembly • Christmas sing-a-long • Curriculum themed days • Tapestry online learning journal • Topic related enrichment • PTA • Woodland and allotment Volunteers • Weekly newsletters • Daily Stay and play sessions

  12. • Come and get stuck in at morning stay and play sessions • Enjoy books, share stories, sing songs together • Make mealtimes count – ask your children about their day, use Tapestry to help you find conversation starters about what has happened in their day • Go exploring • Play (lots!) • Let them make mistakes / try (we know its hard) not to jump in and pre-empt an issue. • Encourage them to try to do things more independently e.g. put on their socks or shoes, put on their coat • Work on toileting, flushing and hand washing skills • Knife and fork skills 

When your child starts nursery, you will be able to download the ParentMail which is a communication platform whereby letters, notifications and information from school gets pushed out to your phone. You will be able to use this app to book parents’ evening appointments. We also have a cashless payment system called parent pay, enabling you to pay for any trips and give permissions without needing to do this via old school envelopes and cash. We send most of our correspondence by text or email.

  15. For those parents accessing 30 hour funding for your child’s place, you must reapply for this every 3 months. This is not the school’s responsibility. If your code expires, you will have to pay any top up fees (£50 per week). If you have any queries, please see our admin team who will try their best to answer any questions.

  18. Brookburn are not responsible for admissions to reception. You will receive a letter, sent by the local authority, explaining the process of applying for a reception place. If you do not live in Manchester boundary lines, i.e. you are within Trafford Local Authority, you will need to ensure that you contact this authority should you not receive a letter when other families at the school do. It is the responsibility of parents to apply for their reception place. Brookburn has no involvement in assigning places and cannot support any applications which may be made appealing a decision from the local authority should the school be oversubscribed.
