  7. SAFER TRANSPORT The Roads and Transport Policing Command (RTPC) work in partnership with Transport for London (TfL) to Keep London moving safely by policing across London's transport network. We work towards continually improving safety on the transport network and around transport hubs by reducing crime and ASB and increasing confidence. We do so by working in partnership, being a visible presence on buses and at transport hubs and using a problem solving approach.

SAFER TRANSPORT Our remit The RTPC has a number of specialised units that deal with a variety of issues on London's Transport Network, including: Safer Transport teams • Roads Policing (Traffic) • Cycle / Motorcycle safety teams • Commercial vehicle unit, Collision investigation • • Cabs, CCTV investigation • Proactive / Reactive crime investigations

  9. SAFER TRANSPORT TEAM HILLINGDON Work in partnership to ensure the transport network is safe for all to use without fear of crime. Hillingdon STT provides cover between 07:00 – 22:00 Mon to Thursday 07:00 – 00:00 Friday 14:00 – 00:00 Saturday

  23. Step-free access & avoiding stairs • Platform humps • Boarding ramps • Level infrastructure • Lifts • Low-floored trains • Kneeling buses

Bus accessibility • A fully accessible network • All buses are fitted with wheelchair ramps, and can kneel • Around 93 per cent of bus stops are accessible, with plans for 95 per cent of bus stops accessible soon • We have had iBus on buses for more than 10 years • There are more and more buses fitted with induction loops

  25. Staff training • All our station staff and bus drivers undergo disability equality training, designed and delivered by disabled people • All Tube station staff recently underwent an extensive week-long customer service training course, with focus on assisting disabled customers

Staff training • We have now started Hello London!, a customer service course for all 24,700 London bus drivers • The programme will address the aspects of our customers’ journeys that research shows could be improved, including more real time information and bus drivers not stopping or opening the doors.

  27. Wheelchair priority space • Drivers must make every effort to give wheelchair users access to the wheelchair priority area, even if it is occupied by buggies and other customers. • Buggy users won’t be forced to leave the bus .

  33. Facilities Non- Emergency Patient Transport

  34. Healthcare Transport Facilities Manages the Non-Emergency Patient Transport Service contract in Hillingdon Borough for both Hillingdon Hospital and Hillingdon Clinical Commissioning Group. Providing Patient Transport to and from Health Care Facilities (this does not include GP appointments). Transport is provided due to medical need at the time of the appointment.

  35. Eligibility Criteria Patients have to meet an eligibility criteria to access this service which is set by the Department of Health. The assessment would be undertaken by your GP, or Clinic you are attending (in the community or the Hospital). Once agreed that the Patient requires Transport, the clinical team would book transport for the Patient.

  36. Patient Transport Supplier Transport is supplied by a private ambulance company who has a range of different types of vehicles to meet our patient needs. Providing cars or ambulances for walking patients, wheelchair and stretcher accessible ambulances

Transport Advisory Group • NW London NHS Commissioners have a Patient Transport Service Managers Group that meets monthly, which includes Hillingdon. • They are standardising eligibility, mobility categories and standards in the NW London area for all patients. • This will allow the same quality standards across NW London NHS.

  39. Healthcare Transport • Healthcare transport is there to help all groups, ages and types of patients attend appointments, be discharged to their residence or transferred between hospitals. • It is designed for Healthcare needs and is in high demand.
