  4. Early Morning Activities Please be on time – get our brains warmed up for the day! Your child is expected to come in, put their things away and start their morning task independently. Example tasks: Dictionary Skills Times table practice Spelling Finishing tasks Quiet Reading Word or Number Puzzles

  5. Expectations Full Bramley School Uniform – we know there will be some short term exceptions . - clearly named Named water bottle . No pencil cases. Independence - Children order their own lunches on the laptop every morning. - There is a three week timetable for lunch choices.

  6. Class Teachers - All lessons are class based so your child will be taught by their class teacher for most subjects. PE days – Tuesday (outdoor) and Friday (indoor) - kits in all week please. - named PE kit and bag Indoor: Navy or black shorts with light blue PE polo Shirt Outdoor: As indoor, together with a change of socks, trainers - tracksuit during the colder months.

  7. Home learning Reading: All children are expected to read a minimum of 3 times a week. We advise that one of these is out loud with an adult. All reading should be recorded in the children planners and signed by an adult once a week. School books and Home books Planners will be checked on a Thursday and all children who have completed their weekly reading will receive a raffle ticket for a weekly prize draw.

  8. Home Learning Maths: Times table practice is essential! There will be a weekly multiplication focus. Children will be expected to do 20 minutes of times table practice every week. TTRockstars, other Apps and online games, playing dice games at home, rapid recall quizzes, writing their tables out or using some of the practise sheets available from the classroom. Recorded and signed in Home Learning books – checked on a ?? .

  9. Home Learning Topic: Each half term, a selection of tasks linked to our school learning will be set. Children can choose from them or make up their own linked to our topics. 20 minutes each week Bring them in once completed – some May take 1 week, some may take several. Tasks will be shared and celebrated in class.

  10. Home Learning Spelling: Most spelling learning will take place in class through games and handwriting practice. Each term we will give a list of words to focus on at home. Children should be able to spell them by the end of the half term when they will be tested. Topic related words will also be in planners if children want to learn these too.

  13. Outcome Events Each term, we will have an outcome event based on the topic the children have been learning about. Some are shared experiences within school. Parents are invited in once a term so that children can share their learning. These events usually take place at 2.30pm. Our first one will be this term. Autumn – Volcano gallery – 22 nd October
