  7. Oilfield Helping Hands Recent Grant Recipient Cases Case #1 Recipient's daughter, who is seven and special needs, contracted Acute Disseminated Encephalomyelitis (ADEM) two days after Christmas. She has been in Texas Children’s Hospital since December and will continue to be there in rehab for at least the next month relearning how to use her hands and hopefully walk assisted again. How OHH Assisted $10,000 was granted to the recipient to cover his daughter's medical bills and work needed to the house for wheelchair access. Case #2 The recipient was airlifted to San Antonio where he underwent emergency gallbladder surgery. His kidney function went up a few numbers, so they sent him home. A week later, he was still sick and in so much pain that he couldn’t hold down food or water. He went back to his doctor and was readmitted to the hospital and found to have had a severe reaction to the barium. How OHH Assisted $5,500 was granted to the recipient to help cover his family’s mortgage until he’s able to go back to work. www.OilfieldHelpingHands.org

  8. Oilfield Helping Hands Recent Grant Recipient Case Case #3 Recipient's daughter passed away 19 days after birth due to heart failure combined with a severe genetic disorder. Her stay at the children’s hospital came to nearly $500,000 plus a $53,000 helicopter flight. The husband’s insurance has covered the majority of the expenses; however they are still paying out of pocket for what the insurance did not cover. They owe approximately $6,000 for what is not covered, and the helicopter expense is still outstanding and waiting to go through the insurance process. How OHH Assisted $10,000 was granted to the recipient to help him pay off the rest of his daughter’s medical expenses. www.OilfieldHelpingHands.org
