What additional privileges do I have as an enrolled Senior Guest Auditor? • Free UW Photo ID Card and My UW account with e-mail • Free access to campus libraries with borrowing privileges • Free access to computer facilities and computer assistance through UW- Madison’s Division of Information Technology ( DoIT): www.doit.wisc.edu • Access to campus recreational facilities with additional semester fee.   7. How do I become a Senior Guest Auditor? • Seven Steps University of Wisconsin – Madison

Step 1: Apply through Adult Career and Special Student Services • Apply online as a Senior Guest auditor at least three weeks before the beginning of the term: continuingstudies.wisc.edu/advising/audit60.htm • You may also call (608-263-6960) or drop by our office for a paper application. Allowing for time in the mail, send paper application to us at least four weeks before the beginning of the term. University of Wisconsin – Madison

  9. Step 2: Activate your online UW-Madison e- mail and enrollment account (“ MyUW ”) • You may activate your “ MyUW ” account as soon as you receive your admission letter. Go to UW- Madison’s home page at www.wisc.edu and then click on the web link for “ MyUW ” University of Wisconsin – Madison

  10. Activate your NetID and Password • Go to http://my.wisc.edu • then activate your NetID using the 10 digit campus ID number provided on your admission letter University of Wisconsin – Madison

  11. Step 3: Identify courses you might like to audit Search “ Public Class Search ” from the UW homepage OR…. Visit Adult Career and Special Student Services , at 21 N. Park Street, 7 th floor, to see a printed course schedule. Our office is open from 7:45am to 4:30pm, Mondays-Fridays and Tuesday nights until 7pm. University of Wisconsin – Madison

  12. Class Search • Enter the Term and the course Subject and then click “Search” at bottom of page to see all courses offered in a department. • Use other search criteria if you wish. University of Wisconsin – Madison

Step 4: Go to Each Class with your Permission Forms, and Request Permission from Instructors to Audit their Classes • Your letter of admission will include one “Permission to Enroll Form.” • Photocopy as many forms as you need, or download and print additional copies from: continuingstudies.wisc.edu/advising/enroll- guest.htm University of Wisconsin – Madison

  17. Go to the Department Step 5: Take each “Permission to Enroll” form to the department office offering the course and ask them to enter an electronic “Class Permission” for you to enroll. Verify the 5-digit Class Number . You will need this to enroll so you may wish to make a note of it. Sometimes it is referred to online as the Class Nbr . University of Wisconsin – Madison

  18. To Enroll Step 6: On your computer, enroll in the classes for which you have received Class Permission. Use the 5-digit Class Number to add each class to your “shopping cart.” Then begin enrolling. You may complete your online enrollment anytime after the term begins, but no later than the end of the second week of classes. For assistance call the Registrar’s Help Line at 608-262-0920.   25. Enrollment Error • A red X indicates a failure to enroll. In most cases, this means you need to contact the department again to ask them to set up the electronic Class Permission (or to extend the permission deadline). University of Wisconsin – Madison

  26. Confirm Enrollment Always return to your Student Center to verify your enrollment. The course or courses in which you successfully enrolled will appear in your “Summary Grid.” University of Wisconsin – Madison

  28. Wiscard • Step 7 (optional): The day after you enroll in at least one course, you can pick up your Wiscard at Union South. Your Wiscard is your UW-Madison photo ID card, and it will be needed for access to campus libraries and computer labs (and recreational facilities for an additional fee).
