While tying all these services together can save you a great deal of time, not every message is right for sending to all services at once. Each are all very different sites that draw users for very different purposes. A message meant for your fans on Facebook might not read as well on Twitter, or vice Versa.

Event Scenario: Pancake Breakfast

Building your club’s

Your club has decided to hold a Pancake Breakfast fundraiser in two months. Members begin collaborating ideas for holding the best and biggest pancake breakfast ever and post their findings in a secret board on PINTEREST to be discussed during the next meeting. The date has been selected and a compelling CALENDAR EVENT has been added to both the website and the FACEBOOK page, both linking to each other. A BLOG post has been made linking to both of the event pages and describes the excitement for what to expect. The post includes examples of what the club has done in the past with the funds raised during previous breakfasts, and describes in the value attending and supporting this event will have for the community. This blog post is shared to both FACEBOOK and public pancake breakfast PINTEREST Board. A graphical ad for the event is shared to INSTAGRAM and TWITTER with a hashtag #[CLUB]LIONSPANCAKEBREAKFAST. A creative genius in your club creates a promotional video for the pancake breakfast which is uploaded to YOUTUBE, shared to FACEBOOK, and the public pancake breakfast PINTEREST Board. Because the BLOG sidebar is set-up to show the most current promotional YOUTUBE video, the website has auto-updated. TWEETS are being made, “What’s your favorite pancake topping?” “Sausage or Bacon with pancakes - which is better and why”, and “Lion Johnny says he can flip pancakes like a juggler. Do we believe him?!” One last thing, while we’re in the BLOG, lets create a scheduled post for the day of the event with an INSTAGRAM feed linked directly into it with a reminder to support the cause, eat the delicious food, and discover Lion Johnny’s true level of pancake juggle control.

A fellow Lion finds a great article, “Top 10 Reasons to Eat Pancakes!” which is shared to the public pancake breakfast PINTEREST Board and then to FACEBOOK. The event is fast approaching and a countdown timer is added to the BLOG and FACEBOOK. Conversation is abuzz on the ol’ TWITTER, all Lion members have invited all of their local FACEBOOK friends via the FACEBOOK event invite feature, liked and shared the posts to their own walls, joined in the TWEETING conversations, and made bets over Johnny’s flapjack skills. Event day has arrived and members have started their magic in action. Sharing photos live on INSTAGRAM , FACEBOOK video’s live, TWEETS with behind-the-scene insights, bloopers, Top Ten Best Moments, and that creative genius is recording Johnny’s impressive skills for YOUTUBE . Everything is using the assigned HASHTAG. Since the website has a page dedicated to Pancake breakfasts, visitors are met with up-to-date content featuring the event in action and later all of the content related to the most recent breakfast without any extra effort. The event was a success. One last thing, return to the FACEBOOK event page and TWITTER asking for feedback! “How did they enjoy it?”, “What was their favorite part.” Add those testimonials to the Pancake Breakfast page on the website. Finally, Remember to connect future contributions to the community to the generosity of those who took the time to visit your pancake breakfast fundraiser, which allows the [NAME] Lions Club to serve in this amazing capacity.
