Our Mission & Vision

Virginia Garcia is a catalyst for change in health care delivery.

The Mission of the Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center is to provide high quality, comprehensive, and culturally appropriate primary health care to the communities of Washington and Yamhill counties with a special emphasis on migrant and seasonal farmworkers and others with barriers to receiving health care. Our vision is simple. We work to ensure that all people in our service area have access to timely, high-quality health services, enabling them to achieve the best possible health outcome.

Who We Serve

Our patients are amazing. If we had 100 of them standing in front of you today, here’s what they would look like:

  • 48 would be kids – 18 years old or younger
  • 98 of those 100 would live in a low-income household
  • 24 would be uninsured
  • 63 would be insured by the Oregon Health Plan or

Medicaid

  • Over half would be best served in a language other

than English.

  • 20 would be farmworkers

Food for thought

  • Farmworkers and their families labor in fields and factories across the

county to bring us fresh fruits, vegetables and other agricultural products.

  • Many farmworkers leave their permanent homes for months at a time

to follow the crops, working in rural areas of the United States.

  • The multi-billion-dollar U.S. agricultural industry relies heavily on

farmworkers to produce and harvest the crops that feed and nourish

  • ur families.
