Winter 2017 semester, WCC established CTE Success Coaching by
In conjunction with Academic Advisors and Case Managers the coach worked to support students holistically to increase persistence, retention,and completion. Fall 2018, WCC leadership determined that a more intentional approach and collaboration with faculty was need to make an impact. Using a barrier identification sheet, the CTE coach then began classroom visits to deliver presentations to both faculty and students about coaching, Perkins funding, and additional campus resources. Fall 2019, the college onboarded the Success Coach Manager, who activated the use of data to create a more proactive outreach model to

Virtual Outreach:
Let’s Talk Tuesdays was introduced to the WCC campus community to 1) create a space for students and staff to engage with campus resources to support
deadlines to students regarding the upcoming summer semester. Success Strategies for Online Courses provided students the resources and knowledge to have the confidence to navigate their online experience. Virtual Group Advising Sessions collaborative effort between advisors and coaches to engage with students around course offerings and non-academic support. Virtual Connect Sessions Allows students to be introduced and start building a rapport with success coaching before the semester begins. Providing support from orientation to graduation.
Success Coaching Pathway: Wolf P.A.C.K. Scholars Pathway
How Does It Work: Students who are part of this pathway will have an opportunity to receive academic advantages, access to resources, and a defined path as they earn their degree at WCC. The pathway consists of four key domains. Each domain contains some required and some optional assignments and virtual activities which will allow students to work towards completing the pathway. Once a pathway is completed, students can earn a $200.00 book scholarship.

Success Teams:
How Does It Work: Success teams are a new student support model to provide outreach, intervention and a relational approach to students in an effort to improve academic success and student satisfaction. The team is composed of staff and faculty from multiple areas of WCC who collaborate regularly on issues and develop activities and communications to engage students in program-related experiences. Included on the team is representation from enrollment services, academic advising and coaching teams. The WCC Success Teams will consist of the following WCC staff members: Recruiter, Success Coach, Advisor, Faculty, Tutor
