201 2016 will be the third summer of offering Biology Jumpstart to all students entering biology. Each high school provides two weeks of hands-on biology units to engage, advance, and facilitate student excellence in biology. Tangible skills training for science and field study activities at Rose Bay STEM Integration with an environmental & biological standards focus Exciting team research and investigative skills are developed Pre/Post testing for content understanding

Volusia Summer READS!

  • In conjunction with the state of Florida’s 2016 Summer Literacy Adventure, students complete the
  • nline summer literacy adventure pledge.
  • Students read at least three books of their choice and participate in two online book chats.
  • Book chat dates: July 7th and July 21st using
  • Students and families completing all of these steps will be entered into a drawing for a Kindle Fire.
  • 586 elementary students are registered to participate; 37 participating elementary schools
  • 127 middle and high school students are registered to participate; 12 participating secondary

schools

  • Sponsored by two local business partners, the Lodging & Hospitality Association of Volusia County

and the Daytona Regional Chamber of Commerce.
