SLIDE 9
Multi-Leg Tank
■ Advantages
– Lower capital cost – Structural problems evident due to staining & rust – Designed to meet Boiler Code = Watertight structure – Most similar in appearance to existing water tower – Can be custom painted
■ Disadvantages
– High maintenance costs associated with repainting every 15 to 20 years – Ice can damage interior coatings – Larger foundation required
SLIDE 10
CET Tank
■ Advantages
– Designed to be low maintenance – No regular painting – Single panels can be replaced if necessary – Roof requires no submerged structural components – Faster construction time that requires minimal equipment – Concrete column can be used as storage space
■ Disadvantages
– Bolted panels increase potential for leaks – Structural damage can be caused by ice – Glass panels can be damaged by vandalism – Lifespan not definitive since only utilized since 1970s – Concrete pedestal may require occasional crack repair
SLIDE 11
Ground Tank
■ Advantages
– Least visual impact – Lowest capital cost – Tank designed to be low maintenance – Single tank panels can be replaced – Roof requires no submerged structural components – Fastest construction time
■ Disadvantages
– Lowest reliability due to pumps versus gravity – Pressure vault required – Highest operating cost – Bolted panels increase potential for leaks – Panels can be damaged by vandalism – Tank lifespan not definitive
