What is Victim Support? • Victim Support is an independent national charity for victims and witnesses of crime across England and Wales 3
What does Victim Support do? • Victim Support provides information, emotional support and practical help to people, regardless of whether or not the crime has been reported to the police or whenever the crime happened. • Our services are free and confidential. • Our highly-trained staff and volunteers try to help and empower those affected by crime to find the strength to rebuild their often shattered lives 4

Witness Service • Witness Service operates in every Magistrate and Crown Court to help those called in as witnesses • This service is confidential and free 8
Support at the court • Witness Service will normally contact witnesses in advance of the court hearing to offer its services. • Witness Service helps witnesses victims, their families and friends before, during and after a hearing. This support is provided by trained volunteers. • They help children as well as adults. 9
