2008 Coal Creek Fire (Fire Use) Discussion

slide-24
SLIDE 24
  • The Coal Creek Fire was one of the first large

fires managed as a fire use fire in the state.

  • High visibility and a lot of media.
  • The partnership between the USFS and City was

critical to allowing this fire to be “managed” as such and greatly contributed to it’s overall success.
