4) After the JSR: JSR secretariat in consultation with the relevant sector department for the respective undertaking review the draft undertakings to edit, smarten, sharpen and make ready for presentation to the Sector Working Group. 4) Upon presentation to the sector working group: the draft undertakings are again discussed and then formally adopted 5) After the Sector Working Group meeting: the adopted undertakings are incorporated into the JSR signed minutes and become binding on the sector

Compliance to Water and Environment Regulations

  • 1. Develop a strategy and a plan for joint action to

enforcement and compliance to water and Environment Laws using the Ministry of Water and Environment (MWE) regional structures and Local Governments.

  • 2. Review the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)process

including approvals, monitoring and enforcing conditions in the EIA certificates

  • 3. Develop a management framework for fecal sludge service

chain (including business aspects) by end of FY 2019/20 (continued from last FY)

  • 4. Disseminate the sanitation monitoring indicators,

measuring framework and develop an improved MIS system (digital based) by FY 2020/21

“safely managed” sanitation by FY 2019/20

No new undertaking is proposed for the ENR sector due to the long process required but instead continue with completion of the current

  • undertaking. However, the following are recommended
  • 6. Finalize the mainstreaming guidelines and support preparation of

sector specific mainstreaming guidelines for the 4 remaining high impact sectors

  • 7. Put

in place a strategy and action plan for accelerated implementation of the mainstreaming guidelines including capacity building, resource mobilizing and a framework for report
