Mission of Intro to Track

 To introduce athletes to the sport of track and

field and all events and disciplines within the sport. To begin to teach good running form, sportsmanship, and track etiquette along with the fundamentals needed to be safe and successful. To provide an atmosphere where we can encourage youth athletes in a non- competitive and friendly manner that keeps them active, and teaches athletes a love for the sport of Track and Field.

Into to Track

 Athletes born between January 1, 2007 and December 31, 2011

 Younger athletes need to contact us at info@tricitythunder.org

 1 Day a week practices – Tuesday evenings at 5:45 pm Southridge High School

Track for 45-60 min practices.

 Parent Volunteers NEEDED to assist with training under the direction of our

Intro to Track Coach.

 Fees

 $50- Thunder Membership, includes training shirt  Early Bird Discount $15 discount until April 8th

 Athletes need the following to practice:

 Sturdy soled sneakers, comfortable clothes, and WATER BOTTLE

Thunder Atmosphere

FUN and active learning of events in developmentally appropriate ways through the use of age appropriate games.

Focus on effort and PR’s (Personal Records).

We want athletes to get to know each other and cheer for other Thunder athletes during meets. This exemplifies SPORTMANSHIP!

Middle School and High School Athlete Mentor Program

 Older athletes assist in practices perfecting their skill by teaching your athlete.  Younger athletes look up to MS and HS athletes.  Thunder athletes span most Tri-City Middle and High Schools.  Teach older athletes the importance of

Competition and Camp Opportunities

 All Comers Meets – fun and low pressure competitions held at Southridge High

School Track. Open to non-Thunder Athletes, invite a friend!

 Event fees are not included in Thunder Membership.

 Association Championship – June 10th -Hosted by Thunder – attended by other

Track and Field Clubs within our Inland Northwest Association.

 Registration fees are not included in Thunder Membership.

 Southridge Summer Track Camp

 Ages 8-14

 Focus on the Female Athlete

 Open to all ages.

Requirements for Membership

 ALL Athletes MUST purchase a USATF Youth

Membership for $20. This is available via www.usatf.org be sure to affiliate with Thunder by using Club Code (35-0208).

 Email picture of birth certificate to:

kkutsch2@comcast.net

 ALL athletes and Parents MUST agree to Thunder

Code of Conduct.

 ALL athletes wear black shorts. No logos larger

than a quarter.

Willingness to try and HAVE FUN!

Volunteer Fee $40 – 100% Refundable

 Tri City Thunder requires members to Volunteer. Membership fees are low

due to the fact parents volunteer.

 15 hours per family; 10 general hours and 5 related to 2017 USATF Association

Championship.

 HUGE variety of roles – we will help you find one that fits your family.  50 volunteers needed on June 10th – mark your calendar now.

How to Register

 Purchase USATF Members via www.usatf.org . You will need this number to

complete your athlete’s Thunder Membership.

 Visit our website: www.tricitythunder.org  Top right corner click REGISTER. Must create parent account FIRST

 Add children  Available programs will be displayed once children are added

 Register ALL athletes at the same time to qualify for the sibling discounts.  Early Bird Discount until April 8th at midnight.

SPACE IS LIMITED !

 A waitlist may be created however spaces will open as parent

volunteers are identified.
