SUPPORT US

Majority of the businesses felt more consultation regarding activities implemented by the Town Council was required. 80% of the companies firmly believed that a road closure due to COVID would have a dramatically negative impact

  • n their business.

Additional funding to support their businesses through COVID was requested. Town Council to work with private landlords to support the local businesses.

HIGH STREET

Every business is concerned about the economic state of the high street post COVID. All businesses expressed their worries about the number of shop closures and the detrimental effect this will have on the town. Businesses are worried that they would be unable to sustain their business by 2021 if visitor rates do not increase soon. Need to address hospitality industry COVID issues such as customer seating in cafes and pubs.

TOWN MANAGER

"Lots of good ideas." Mumfords. "Seems like you are achieving an awful lot in a very short time for which we are really appreciative." High Tide. "Thank you for setting this up and getting us all involved..it's so helpful to hear the views and circumstances of the other business owners – we are all in the same boat and need to keep positive and look forward during this difficult time." Southwold Gallery. It is a ridiculous idea and it will not work." John Bennett Architects.
