Establish waste stream analysis and audits targeted to specific portions of the campus community to facilitate infrastructure analysis, waste collection strategies, and opportunities for

  • improvement. Institutionalize the use of annual audits of the waste

stream to create program transparency and drive continuous

  • improvement. Create a routine reporting system that graphically

illustrates the status and ensure custodial supervisors continuously monitor progress on the ground.

Implement a management tool (contemplate bar code inventory type system) to regularly evaluate the existing, in building, array of

  • equipment. Ensure consistent branding identity, uniformity or

instructional information is present on all containers and consistent with the integrated communications strategy. Standardize UB recycling systems to create campus wide uniformity for recycling containers, ensuring recycling and trash (and when appropriate compost) options are “married” to reduce potential for contamination and increase diversion rates.
