How did the team get here?

The FHSAA State series consist of a district meet, a regional meet and the state meet. The district meets the schools within the district meet and decided who will host and where the meet will be held. The regional and state meet is a bidding process where you submit your bid with what regions you would like to host and what amenities you will offer. In April of 2019 B3R Sports Inc bid to host 4 regions and was awarded all 4 by the FHSAA. Each district advanced 10 teams and each region receives two districts making 20 teams for each classification at regionals. Districts also qualifies the top 30 individuals to regionals, if an athletes team was not part of the top 10 teams but they finished in the top 30 they are also advanced to regionals. This year there was a total of 110 teams and 1808 runners at the regional. We estimate the event had 4500 people in attendance.

Tracking the hotel numbers

To try and get as accurate number as possible we had each coach fill out a form with their team name, hotel the team stayed in and how many rooms. We also had volunteers ask parents as they were standing in line if they would fill out a similar form with which team they were there to support and which hotel they stayed in. The results were a total of 447 rooms between the schools and the parents.
