1. The food sample goes into the bag 2. A diluent is added and the bag is placed in the paddle blending machine

3. The machine paddle blends the bag and contents, turning the sample into a liquid 4. The sample is then pipetted onto a petri dish 5. The sample is incubated and then tested for e-coli, listeria and salmonella
