Our attorneys trained new residents of DC’s Housing First program on their rights and responsibilities as
- tenants. For some residents, this was the first time
they had ever signed a lease in their own name. Through the training and the tools that we provided (a binder with helpful, practical information; pockets for keeping copies of rent receipts, repair requests, etc.; and a place to take notes about conversations related to their tenancies), many participants in the new program were able to have successful tenancies.
