  7. How to select your courses Page 11 All students should select a minimum of three courses. 1. Ability What are you good at? Make sure you check the entry requirements for each subject. 2. Personal preference What do you enjoy? 3. Inter-relationship of subjects Do you want to study subjects which have a natural grouping, such as Chemistry, Maths and Physics? Do you want a broad balance of subjects? 4. Higher Education Ensure that you complete research about what subjects you may need for your next steps? For example, medicine typically requires both Biology and Chemistry.

  8. The Application Process “ The curriculum offer includes a good balance of academic and vocational subjects” OFSTED 2017 Step One: Start your research now. Visit lots of subject areas this evening and talk to our staff and student ambassadors. Step Two: Complete an application form. These are available here tonight or on our school website. The deadline for these are Friday 24 th January 2020. Step Three: You will be invited to an interview to discuss your choices in the new year. This is also an opportunity for us to provide you with further support if needed. Step Four: You will receive an offer in the post by Friday 3 rd April 2020. We will also provide you with all the information you need for our enrolment day. Step Five: You receive your GCSE results in August and review your subject choices, changes can be made at this stage. Step Six: Our subject enrolment day takes place in September .
