In your End-point Assessment you will need to demonstrate how you have applied the knowledge and understanding you have learned throughout your apprenticeship programme in your business administration role for the Apprenticeship Standard outcomes of processes. This presentation will help you to understand the different areas of the standard and the assessment criteria that you need to cover in your End-point Assessment. Remember to review the evidence that you have collected on your course for review at interview and that you must have at least 8–12 pieces of evidence for each standard outcome.
1.The organisation
The Apprenticeship Standard outcomes for the organisation includes
- Understand organisational purpose, activities, aims, values, vision for the
future, resources and the way that the political/economic environment affects the organisation. The assessment criteria in the Pearson Specification requires that in your interview response you:
- Show understanding of your organisation’s purpose, aims and ways of
working putting it in to the context of the wider economy and political environment.
The organisation
There are many reasons why organisations exist and you will need to show you understand the way that your organisation works
- Its type and sector
- Its plans for the future
- Resources it uses
- The environment in which it operates
The sector in which your organisation operates has a significant influence on the way that it carries out its activities. What is the purpose of your organisation? Which sector(s) does it
- perate in? How does this affect the way that it operates?
Local National International
The organisation
Key strategic documents help organisations to formulate plans for the future and to consider how and why to take the organisation forward.
Mission This is the statement that your organisation uses to be clear about why its exists. Aims These are the overarching plans for the organisation over 3 or 5 years, for example. Objectives These the specific actions drawn from the aims for what needs to happen, usually annually with regular reviews in-year. Values These are the words or actions that the organisation uses to influence its culture and behaviour, for example integrity or accountability. Business operations All of these overarching elements have an impact on the culture and ways of working for the organisation.
How do each of these elements influence the way that you work

Resources and environment Exchange rates
The political and economic environment affects the way that your organisation operates. You will need to consider how each of these elements affects your organisation. If you are unsure about any of them, revise your knowledge ready for your interview and your knowledge test.

External factors
The Apprenticeship Standard outcomes for processes includes:
- Understands relevant external factors e.g. market forces, policy and regulatory
changes, supply change and the wider business impact including international/global markets in which your organisation is placed (where relevant). The assessment criteria in the Pearson specification requires that in your interview response you:
- Show an understanding of the external factors facing your organisation and how
they relate to your role currently as well as how those factors are developing to influence your organisation in the future.
External environment factors
There are four key areas that you need to be aware of:
For each of these areas, you need to show good understanding, be able to give examples in your portfolio, and be able to explain in your test and in your interview the impact on your role and organisation, both now and in the future. Political and economic Government Monetary policy Fiscal policy Changes in the labour market Skills shortages Changes in costs Social and technological Trends in society’s behaviours Social responsibility Changes in demographics Changes in technology Legal and environmental New legislation Changing legislation Ethical practices Market forces Changes in demand for services or goods Changes in costs for services or goods Availability of goods or services
