The life of Chelsea McClammer
A little bit of Background Chelsea McClammer is a twenty-one year old girl who has had a pretty rough life! When she was just six years old she got in a car crash, and was paralyzed from the waste down!! Not being able to walk hasn't stopped her even when she was six she would not let anyone get to her! She is now twenty-one years old! Although she can't walk she never stopped doing what she loved!
The crash Chelsea McClammer was a six year old girl who pretty much lived a normal life until, one day her life took a drastic spin! She was driving in the car with her mom and brother when..... All the sudden she couldn't feel her legs and the car was on fire! The fireman pulled her out of the car, but she couldn't walk! She had broken her back but she couldn't feel it! When the doctor came in the hospital to tell her she was paralyzed Chelsea didn't let that get to her. She had only had six years with legs not a lot of memory. Although she never stop striving for her dreams!
Paralympics She was in the Paralympics at the age of fourteen she was the youngest in the Beijing Paralympic team in 2008 now at twenty-one years old she is training for the 2016 Rio Paralympic Games !
School The University of Illinois was her collage! Her childhood school was not available, but her collage was. She didn't have many struggles in school! She played basketball in college and had a hard decision to make it was either track or basketball she picked track! She was amazing at both sports
Some facts • She got almost a full ride to college! • By twelve she competed in Tampa, Florida! • She is one of the best wheel-chair racers in the world! • She has a brother who was also in the crash but did not get hurt! • She doesn't view herself as an inspiration just a athlete!
