ARMSCOR OBJECTIVES • The objectives as defined in the Armaments Corporation of South Africa Limited Act (Act no 51 of 2003):  To meet the defence matériel requirements of the DOD effectively, efficiently, and economically.  To meet the defence technology, research, development, analysis, and test and evaluation (T&E) requirements ofthe DOD effectively, efficiently, and economically. 3 3

BUSINESS CHALLENGES • Non-integrated Information Technology (IT) systems, some of which have duplicated processes, that are based on outdated technologies. • ICT application systems are fragmented, outdated and unmaintainable. • A sizeable number of manual business processes and siloed operations. 6 6

REQUIRED SOLUTION • Replace fragmented systems with an integrated ERP solution. • An off-the-shelf ERP solution covering the following modules:  Human Resource Management  Payroll  Financial Management  Supply Chain Management  Project Management  Manufacturing  Customer Relations Management NB: Detailed components of the Project Scope are contained within RFB (System Description Document and Business Requirements Specification). 7 7
