- What type of source is it and who wrote it?
- When was it written?
- Is it complete?

- What is happening elsewhere at the time?
Most important in my opinion!

What is Propaganda?
- Misleading information used to promote a
particular point of view
- It is used to influence the opinion or decision of a
group of people with regards to a particular subject, object, cause or issue

What is Biased and/or perspective? “Being biased means having an unbalanced or
- ne-sided opinion” (Textbook, p.447)

Definitions are provided in your textbook and Nationalism and Imperialism are the most important two for Australia

- Conscription = compulsory military service
- Referendum = national vote
- Plebiscite = public opinion poll (not legally binding)
- First plebiscite October 1916 defeated
- Second plebiscite 1917 defeated
- Propaganda campaign vote yes and vote no
