  1. TDR Plots Elizabeth Worcester LBL PWG Meeting May 13, 2019 1

  2. Intro • Brief update with new plots since last week • Plots unchanged from last week at the end 2

  3. CPV Standard Exposures • Changed colors b/c green and orange overlay looked gross • Other plots using 7, 10, 15 year exposures have been changed to match • Combo of transparency and hatching – open to suggestions! • Callum has developed an algorithm to get a smooth median from throws and a true 1 σ contour by fitting – implemented here 3

  4. MH Standard Exposures • Same style as CPV • Currently FD-only fit to make sure script is working – ND-FD jobs are done, will update when hadd finishes 4

  5. δ CP Resolution vs δ CP • Smoothing algorithm applied 5

  6. Resolutions vs. Exposure Highest exposures still running – update when fits complete. Choppiness maybe due to low stats in throws but we need to check the fits. 6

  7. Resolutions vs. Exposure Highest exposures still running – update when fits complete. Choppiness maybe due to low stats in throws but we need to check the fits. 7

  8. Octant • Width of band is just a few dcp points – eventually should include more full scan of dcp space • Missing point at sin 2 θ 23 = 0.5 – will fix at some point • Sensitivity similar to CDR • Octant w/ throws are finishing up 8

  9. To Do Address any feedback on formats shown today • Mass ordering standard exposure plots: • Update to NDFD root files - available soon – Yellow/green statistical variations plots • Make from throws, use same root files as nominal plots – Resolutions • Update when last few exposure points finish – Check fits. Smoothing? – Octant • Also make plot with throws for symmetry with other sensitivity results – Table of milestones • Update CDR script; based on exposure plots already generated – in progress – Comparison plots with CDR-style analysis • Systematics variations plots • Chris showing a pass at this today, will format his result to match other plots once he has a – final version Results section of TDR • Largely done, adding plots as they become available – 9

  10. Plots from last week follow • Updated bubble plots with new color scheme • Everything else unchanged 10

  20. Documentation/Storage • I’m keeping the google doc updated as a temporary clearinghouse as new plots become available: – https://docs.google.com/document/d/1uOkefyk2- ChBxjWijX0JrG9z9m9Ci_Wm8zM_6XrW8iI/edit? usp=sharing • Scripts are in my Github: – https://github.com/etworcester/2019tdrplot.git • Plots will go on approved plots page once final 20
