having bad day, here are CHS policies and procedures for tardies

Tardy Stations and “Tardy eLiminator”

  • Tardy students must get a pass from a Tardy

Station in order to be allowed into class.

○ The Tardy Station is a scanner, computer, and printer combination on a rolling cart strategically placed in the hall.

  • The “Tardy eLiminator” keeps records of tardies and

makes instant communication with parents/guardians of tardy students.

REMINDER: ALL classroom doors are to remain locked at ALL times (this is a campus expectation.

  • When the passing period begins, teachers

that have Tardy Station duty, report to the Tardy Station.

  • Between periods, all other teachers stand at

their doors to greet their students and assist with hallway supervision.

  • Teachers that do not have class, stand
  • utside their shut / locked door to assist with

hallway supervision for 10 minutes after the tardy bell rings.

When the bell rings to begin class:

  • teachers that do not have a class perform a

“Tardy Sweep”.

○ Clear the hallways by reminding students to go to the nearest Tardy Station and if necessary, walking with them until they get there.

  • teachers that do have a class shut their

doors and begin class.

Student Expectations

  • Tardy Students go to the nearest Tardy

Station to receive a pass to class.

  • Students show their IDs or provide their ID#s

and are issued tardy slips by a laptop/ printer/scanner combination.

  • Students show their classroom teachers the

tardy pass and are permitted back into class.

  • Three tardy stations

○ 1 upstairs ■ close to F hall & Main intersection

  • Top of main stairs

○ 2 downstairs ■ close to A hall & Main intersection ■ Student Service Center (secondary downstairs station)

  • A teacher and an administrator will be at each Tardy

Station.

Student Consequences

  • Tardy students are not allowed in class until

they get a pass from the tardy station.

  • Parents are called and emailed immediately.
  • The accumulation of tardies results in

absences, make up hours, and consequences.

When do we start issuing TARDIES….

Paper slips on Monday, Aug 27th and Electronic slips Tues, Sept 4th

Starting Monday, teachers will not let you in to class after the bell without a pass from the Tardy Station.
