  12. Common Core Aligned 3-8 Assessments 12  3-8 Assessments  Administered in Spring of 2013  Scores have been released  Significant drop in scores

Common Core Aligned 3-8 State Assessments 13  The assessments in grades 3-8 were aligned to the Common Core Learning Standards.  As a result, the exams administered in April 2013 differed from previous state assessments.  A decline in scores was expected by state education officials.  We must work together to deliver on the promise of public education for all students.

BOE Members Role in Supporting the Common Core Learning Standards 17  Focus the District on College and Career Readiness through your District’s Mission, BOE goals, etc.  Stay informed, understand the common core and communicate the changes to your school community.  Provide financial support to Common Core initiatives.  Protect human capital by supporting the necessary PD, coaching, time, etc.
